Culture of Vigan

              Every September Vigan celebrates the World Heritage Cities Solidarity Cultural Festival. This celebration aims to strengthen the pride in the city's history and culture.


               During September 8, we are celebrating Solidarity.Food establishments offer the famous Vigan bagnet, chicha-corn,empanada,okoy, longganisa, and more that is associated with Vigan. This celebration have lots of activities like zarzuela, Sabatang Pagbigkas, daniw and more. At night of September 8, a cultural show was showcased. It was focus of the Heritage Youth Congress. In the year 1999, Vigan City was listed in the UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE Sites and established in the 16th century. And in the year 2014, Vigan now was one of the New Seven Wonders Cities of the World and was inagurated as such on May 7, 2015.

                Even though Vigan was colonized by the Spaniards we didn,t gave up. Vigan was a beautiful place and many tourists are visiting Vigan. This is why Vigan is one of the New Seven Wonders Cities of the World.
